About Veer
English to cross over with.
Why Veer
English is not a list to learn by heart but a way to talk to people on the other side. When you get stuck, you are usually missing a situation or an example, not talent. Veer starts from what you want to say and gives you the rule you need for it.
Four blocks, always in the same order
Why, See it or Hear it, Get it, Do it. Then the pitfalls, where you meet it in real life and a little history of the language. Every topic shows what you need first and what comes next.
Exercises that never run out
A generator makes a new exercise every time from large lists of verbs, words and sentences: fill in, choose, build sentences, match and translate. When you make a mistake, you see which rule you broke. Thousands of exercises per topic are tested automatically.
Who makes Veer
Veer is made by Neal Van de Velde (nealvdv), who also made Draad, Ruit, Vonk and Spoor. Questions, mistakes or ideas are always welcome.
Calm and private
No ads, no tracking, no required account, no streaks or notifications that make you feel guilty. Reading aloud is done by your own browser, nothing goes to a server. What you can do is kept on your own device only.
What does Draft mean?

Each app has its own subject and its own look, with the same way of working: understanding over cramming, calm and without ads.
Where we come from
Veer is made from a Christian conviction: every child is valuable, and learning a language is a way of going towards the other. The subject matter itself is plain, honest English.
